How we replaced two months of one-on-one parent coaching with a single app — putting an adaptive protocol in the pocket of every exhausted caregiver.
Every helmet Neuro+ sold meant another two months of phone calls. A coach on the line, a family on the other end, a six-to-eight-week protocol to set up, run, and adjust as the child responded. It worked. It also couldn't grow.
So the brief was to put that two-month relationship inside an app — without losing the warmth that made parents trust it. Caregivers of neurodivergent kids carry more in a normal day than most households carry in a hard one. They don't have spare attention for a clever interface. We treated that as the constraint, not a feature request.
The Neuro+ team had been running the program for years, and most of its logic lived in conversations and instinct. We sat with the team and traced the entire two-month journey end to end — every call, every adjustment, every observation a coach was trained to listen for. The picture that emerged shaped every design decision that followed.

Parents in sync
Single-task home screen
One thing to do today. No backlog, no choice paralysis — a state machine surfaces exactly the right next step for each family.
Self-adjusting six-week protocol
Personalized starting parameters, automatic dose adjustment, and confirmed pauses when overstimulation signals appear — no phone call required.
Smart check-in cadence
Seven triggered questionnaires across 42 days. One question routes families into reassurance, measurement, or a safety pause automatically.
Whole-household sync
Two parents, multiple children, one coherent picture. Each profile stays isolated; the household stays in sync across devices in real time.
What We Built
Each of the four features replaces something the human coach used to do. Together, they let Neuro+ support every family with the same care — without a phone call, at any scale.
The home screen shows a single task. Sessions on weekdays. Rest on Sundays. Check-ins on the days that matter. No backlog, no overdue badges, no choice paralysis. Underneath the task, a state machine runs the full protocol — gating, prerequisites, safety conditions — and surfaces exactly one thing at a time.
Each child gets a personalized starting protocol — power and session duration — generated from an initial questionnaire. The app watches what parents report through scheduled check-ins. If signs of overstimulation appear, it guides a confirmed pause. If nothing is changing after three weeks, it adjusts the dose and restarts the cycle.
Short questionnaires trigger on Day 3, 7, 14, 21, 28, 35, and 42. One question repeats every time: how is daily life feeling overall? Three options, one tap — routing families into reassurance, measurement, or a safety pause. Parents never have to decide whether something is serious enough to flag.
The app belongs to the family, not to one parent and one child. Two parents on two phones stay in sync — when one logs the session, the other sees it. Households running the helmet for more than one child get clean profile separation. The Neuro+ team gets a back-office view of every family's progress.
App Architecture
The app's core is a protocol engine — not just a task list. It encodes six weeks of clinical logic: when to run, when to rest, when to check in, when to pause. The parent sees one thing at a time. Underneath, the machine is doing all the work.
A deterministic state machine runs the full six-week program — gating sessions, enforcing rest days, triggering check-ins, and adjusting dose when needed. The logic that used to live in coaching calls now runs quietly, the same way every time.
Triggered on seven fixed days, a single recurring question routes families into three paths: reassurance, measurement, or a safety pause. The app decides severity — parents never have to.
Two parents on two devices stay fully in sync. Each child runs on their own isolated protocol. Session logs, check-in responses, and protocol state are shared across the household in real time.
The Neuro+ clinical team sees aggregated patterns across all families — compliance rates, protocol adjustments, check-in responses — so the protocol itself keeps improving from real-world data.
Impact
A two-month coaching engagement, replaced by an app that fits in the pocket of an exhausted parent. The warmth that made families trust the program is preserved — but now it scales.
For Families
Parents no longer need to remember what to do, decide whether to worry, or find time to call. The app carries the protocol, catches the signals, and guides the next step — every day, for every family, without exception.
For Neuro+
The two-month coaching bottleneck is gone. Neuro+ can sell every helmet knowing the program will run correctly — for every family, in every household — without a coach on the line. The back-office view means the protocol keeps improving from real-world data.
